Okay I know one of you have a Tina Turner or Cher wig in that closet you can loan me.
Friday we found out that I need 6 rounds of chemo plus radiation. The tumor was 5.5 cm, pretty large. That plus my age puts me in the high risk category. In order to be sure that they get any remaining cancer cells that can be hiding or dormant they will treat it aggressively. Radiation is for the incision, believe it or not, cancer cells can hide there from the mastectomy surgery.
I start chemo on Friday. Two weeks later I can expect to lose hair. Lindsey asked me "so what's this bald thing" you're talking about? My kids will be good at giving me lots of hugs through it all. So let's do a little survey. Please tell me if you think I should get a short or long wig? and why?
I got the last drain out today! I can now raise my arms to a 90 degree angle now. Still no exercise and have to sleep at 45 degree angle for two more weeks. I've had Dr's appointments everyday and they tire me out. Yesterday I had a job interview and it was a team effort to get me ready. Dad washed my hair. Amy Howard styled it and she did such a great job! (I haven't fixed my hair in nearly 3 weeks) Then Mom dressed me and we pinned that drain tubing and all under my dress. It came lose later at Walmart! I felt so happy to be dressed up and looking normal thanks to a great team.
I continue to recieve cards, visits, and help cleaning and cooking. Each one comes at the right time and Its so nice to hear from friends. My family really appreciates what you have done for us.

Barbie! I'm so glad you're doing well and can get around. I think you should be a Tina Turner wig!! Proud Mary, keep on rolling! You're in my prayers that the Chemo goes well! How did the interview go?
Love & Miss you!
Ginny
I'm so torn between the Tina and Cher look. My husband wants to go with me to pick it out. So do you think short or long? Good to hear from you.

Hmm ... I always was going to go long and red (just for kicks), but my long-length one went unused.
Go for long! You'll have short hair after chemo.
But wait -- short is so much nicer in the summer.
I'm no help!
Excuse, the question is removed
