I had my last round a week ago and am feeling okay. I hope I never go back there again. And my hair is growing back- white peach fuzz all over my head. Alexis captured it with photos yesterday.
I resigned from my job and am choosing to rest and heal at this time. It was a very difficult decision. I love waking up and getting my kids ready for school, cooking breakfast, and making sure they're ready for school.
I start radiation in about 2-3 weeks.
Here's a photo of my reconstructive doctor and the 60cc's of saline he's been filling my expanders with. It really doesn't hurt because most of the nerves were taken out with the mastectomy.
I usually get a saline fill the day before I go for chemo. Side effects are muscle spasms but they go away after about a week.

Karen, I am so happy for you! I think you'll find that the next step isn't nearly as hard as chemo. In fact, dare I say I almost enjoyed radiation?
Great job! Feel proud of yourself for enduring such a tough time, and know that it was worth it. :)
Hi Karen, Have been thinking about you all week!!. Sorry you had to quit your job, but I think rest is a good idea! You have been through so much this past year. This must mean you will have some time off and maybe we can do lunch sometime!
Hey Barb,
So glad chemo is over! You've been so brave!! Just think you'll have virgin hair - how cool is that? OK, you know me... trying to find humor is everything.
I love you!
Ginny
Wonderful news to hear your done with chemo. I can't even imagine, however I am in awe of your grace and humor as you've gone thru it. Glad to hear your taking care and resting. Big hug from Ken and I to you!xoxoxo
